How I Became a Morning Gal

Can you imagine this bitch in a suit every day???👇👇👇😆
Yup, that’s right! For eight years, I was deep in the world of corporate finance and data analytics. It was during my “corporate era” that I discovered fitness as my escape from stress. At first, I ran—a lot. But after one injury too many, I was in search of something to heal my running aches and pains, and I found my true love: strength training.Right before starting my last corporate job at EMC, I had finally built a consistent gym routine. At the time, I’d hit the gym after work, but EMC threw a wrench in that plan. My commute home? A nightmare. Anywhere from 40 to 90 minutes of pure unpredictability.I knew I wanted to keep training, so I made a bold decision—I’d start working out in the morning…but like, it had to be WICKED early if I was going to make to work on time.😭I signed up for a 5:30 AM small group strength training class, thinking it would force me out of bed. The first time my alarm clock went off at 4:45 AM? Pure suffering. I swear I saw my life flash before my eyes. That first week was brutal. But I found a few tricks—sleeping in my gym clothes, putting my alarm across the room—small things that helped me get there. And then, something clicked.I made friends in class. The coach knew my name, helped me with my technique, and taught me things I’d never done before. I started looking forward to it. It was a small group, I couldn’t just hide in a crowd and when I missed a day? People noticed. They asked where I was. After six months, everything felt different. My clothes fit better. I was stronger. And getting up early? No longer a battle.I realized that just deciding to be consistent wasn’t enough. What made the real difference? The community. The coaching. Lifting heavy things with people who pushed me to show up.If you’re struggling to stay consistent with training, that’s the missing piece. You won’t get the results you want—whatever they are—without consistency. Here’s how to find that magic time:1️⃣ Find a time (or times!) that work for you. It doesn’t have to be the same every day, but it does have to be something you can commit to week after week. And if it’s not a time you want, you’ll need a strategy—this is where #2 and #3 come in.2️⃣ Find a place you actually want to be. The best program in the world will still get boring if you don’t love the environment. Find your people—accountability and fun make all the difference.3️⃣ Know the results you want and train accordingly. If building muscle and getting strong is your goal, random workouts and generic programs won’t cut it. Find a place that knows how to get you there.
