You aren’t set up for success, but here is what to do about it.
Been thinking about something a lot lately. It is the number one thing I hear from newbies starting at MSC…”I just can’t seem to make my fitness habit stick, WHY!??”
Well, it really isn’t your fault. We live in a world that is not set up for success when it comes to building habits. There’s constant distraction, a million options, new workouts/programs popping up every day, phones buzzing, schedules packed… it’s A LOT. And over time, that actually starts to mess with how our brain operates.
We get wired to chase novelty instead of sticking with something. We start program hopping. We feel like we always need something new to stay motivated. And then we wonder why consistency feels so hard.
And with fitness, it’s even trickier. Fitness progress is one of the things in life where you don’t get instant gratification. You don’t do one workout and suddenly feel like a new human. It takes time. It takes repetition. And it usually comes at the beginning of or the end of a long day when your energy is already kind of tapped.
From a brain standpoint, you’re working against a few things:
your brain prefers quick rewards over delayed ones, it tries to conserve energy, and it gets overwhelmed when there are too many choices. So when you’re like “why can’t I just stay consistent?”… it’s not a you problem. It’s just how we’re wired + the environment we’re in.
And this is exactly why we’ve built MSC the way we have. We make consistency EASY so you actually follow through on. We keep it fun (because if you enjoy it, you’ll keep coming back). We build in accountability coaching for EVERY member, because let’s be real, it’s way easier to show up when people know your name and expect you there. We take the thinking out of it with programming so you’re not wondering what to do or bouncing around trying different things. And with our onboarding and coaching, we don’t just throw you into workouts… we actually teach you how to build the habits you need step by step so they stick for life.
The goal isn’t to be perfect. It’s to make showing up feel doable and even enjoyable.
So if you’ve ever felt like “ugh why is this so hard?”… you’re not alone, and you’re not broken. You’re just living in 2026 😅
And that’s why having the right environment and people around you matters so much.
