… and just like that, MSC is 10 years old.

Sizzle Reel 2 Cover

Pretty wild, honestly. I started this gym as a wee babe (or at least I felt like one ☺️). A LOT has changed, but at our core, MSC — and I — are still the same. Now I’m 42: a perfect hybrid of wise old sage and a immature pre-teen (got some Peter Pan syndrome goin’ on over here and I plan on keeping that way💁🏻‍♀️).

In the last 10 years, like all of us…this gym and I — have been through some shit.  We are not the same as we were in 2016, and thank f*cking god for that.

I’ve never loved something so deeply while also wanting to burn it to the ground.

Never been so mad at myself and so impressed by my strength and resilience at the same time.

Never had such a clear vision while also having no idea what incredible things might be coming next and how to navigate them.

I’ve never been more confident in my abilities, more aware of my screw-ups, more grounded in who I am — and more uncertain (and excited) about who I’m becoming — all at once.

Somehow I’m not totally sure how I ended up here, wildly grateful that I did, and fully aware it came from choosing — again and again — to live this one weird, beautiful life on my own terms, doing what I know I was born to do:

Show people they’re stronger than they think — and give them the confidence to prove it.

Connect people and create something that actually matters.

Be unapologetically myself and care deeply, even when it’s messy.

Keep learning, growing, and leveling up forever.

MSC is light-years better in every way than it was in 2016. It became what it is through a decade of lessons — some chosen, many not. Here are my top seven lessons from ten years (because I don’t do things traditionally and these matter more than forcing it to be ten):

1) Experience matters.
When I was a new coach, I thought I knew everything. Now I’m mildly horrified by a lot of it. You simply can’t know what you don’t know — and unchecked confidence turns into arrogance fast. Finding mentors who had actually done the work, failed, fixed it, and told me the truth changed everything. Going it alone is a fool’s game.

2) You need both wins and face-plants.
Swing big. Miss often. Go all in. That’s how you find out what you’re made of.

3) Try big things — and stick with them.
You can’t chase five shiny ideas at once. Pick the one thing that matters most and commit for a long time. MSC is a “one-trick pony” on purpose: Small Group Training works, and it’s what we do best.

4) Some people will never let you down. Some will.
You meet a lot of people when you build something, and not all of them are who you think they are. Some will quietly have your back forever. Others will disappoint you in ways you never saw coming. That’s not failure — that’s data. It teaches you who to trust, where to put your energy, and which relationships are actually worth protecting. The more clearly you see that, the stronger everything you build becomes.

5) There are no shortcuts.
You have to work so hard you almost break… then find the balance. Sweat equity is real. You can’t build something meaningful without a season of grinding.  And then you MUST find the balance, it has taken me a long time (too long maybe but that is ok), I can sit back and look at what I have built, take time to take care of myself and my family and know MSC is good hands (honestly, better hands than mine:) )

6) If you haven’t changed your mind on some things, you aren’t growing.
Full stop.

7) You need community and you need space.
You can’t do this alone — and you also have to learn how to sit with yourself. To go far, you need both.

Cheers to MSC turning 10 — the best glitter-covered dumpster fire of love I’ll ever set ablaze.

To everyone who has ever walked through these doors — who brought this place to life, kept it breathing, growing, and glowing — wherever you are… I love you to the moon and back and I am forever grateful.
